Hello All,
Read my story. May be it helps you, may be not but think about.

After the archiving of the wdsm.opt.opt file in dsmc(client command line) I
have one file in the q arc query:

tsm> q arc c:\tsmtest\*
Session established with server SERVER1: AIX-RS/6000
Server Version 3, Release 7, Level 3.0
Server date/time: 07/26/2000 14:13:11 Last access: 07/26/2000 13:50:24

Size Archive Date - Time File
Expires on Description
----- --------------------------
---------------------------------------------- ----------------
---------------------------------------------- ----------------
----------------
----------------
108 07/26/2000 13:50:24 \\borisf98\c$\tsmtest\wdsm.opt.opt <\\>
108 07/26/2000 13:50:24 \\borisf98\c$\tsmtest\wdsm.opt.opt <\\>
07/26/2001 boris

after the "del arc description=boris"(delete archive by it description) in
dsmc I have not any files in the q arc query:

tsm> q arc c:\tsmtest\*
Session established with server SERVER1: AIX-RS/6000
Server Version 3, Release 7, Level 3.0
Server date/time: 07/26/2009 14:44:29 Last access: 07/26/2009 14:40:39

ANS1092E No files matching search criteria were found

In the same time I want to check the TSM DB archives table : if the "boris"
archive exist?

tsm: SERVER1>select ll_name as "name",type,object_id as ID, archive_date as
"date", description as desc
from archives where description like 'boris'

ANR2963W This SQL query may produce a very large result table, or may
require a significant amount of time to compute.
Do you wish to proceed? (Yes/No)y
name: TSMTEST
TYPE: DIR
ID: 16827
Date:
DESC: boris

name: TSMTEST
TYPE: DIR
ID: 16829
Date:
DESC: boris

name: WDSM.OPT.OPT
TYPE: FILE
ID: 16828
Date:
DESC: boris

name: WDSM.OPT.OPT
TYPE: FILE
ID: 16830
Date:
DESC: boris

name: WDSM.OPT.OPT
TYPE: FILE
ID: 16831
Date:
DESC: boris

And what am I see? All objects exists and have empty "date" field
If the tsm keeps all objects in the DB forever why I can't see them in
client command/gui interface?
If the tsm deletes the data and keeps the object in the DB why?
