You can mix and match any way you want, in any order you want.

TSM clients work with ADSM servers.
ADSM clients work with TSM servers.

I've got one ADSM server upgraded to TSM, not the other; we're upgrading the
clients piecemeal, as it becomes convenient.

The only place I think you can get into trouble, you can't export from a TSM
server and import to an ADSM server.

Makes planning very easy!
