Hi

We were attempting to perform an onbar restore from one database instance
to another (having copied the ixbar file). The onbar process was
terminated (network problem). The following occured:

1. In the bar_act.log ( this was normal as the program was terminated)

2000-07-05 12:25:20 30576 34448 ERROR: Unable to write restore data to the

abase server: buc_fe.c : Archive API processing failed at line 846 for
msgtype.

 2000-07-05 12:32:15 30576 34448 Process 30576 received signal 13. Process
will
 exit after cleanup.

2000-07-05 12:32:15 30576 34448 ERROR: Unable to commit the restore:
Archive A
PI error: not yet open.

2. In the bar_act.log (this is when we tried to run an onbar restore after
a failure). What we don't understand is why Informix failing should
corrupt the
Client Node password??

2000-07-05 13:22:23 34038 26760 XBSA Error (BSAInit): Attempt to authorize
 inf
ormix failed.
2000-07-05 13:22:23 34038 26760 ERROR: Unable to start the physical
restore: A
rchive API error: already open.
2000-07-05 13:22:23 34038 26760 ERROR: Unable to start the physical
restore: A

2000-07-05 13:22:23 34038 26760 ERROR: Unable to start the physical
restore: A
rchive API error: already open.

3.  In the adsm activity log;

05/07/00 13:22:23 ANR0424W Session 1260 for node S00051 (XOpen/ADSM)
refused
                      - invalid password submitted.

05/07/00 13:22:23 ANR0403I Session 1260 ended for node S00051
(XOpen/ADSM).

We updated the node password and the restore is now able to run , but
again why should Informix failing affect the ADSM Client Node password?

Regards
