Hello,

We're using ADSM verison 2.1 and IBM optical library.

Now we're buying STK 9730 DLT library with 2-DLT 7000 drives.

With the installation of STK 9730 I would upgrade ADSM from 2.1 to 3.1.x.

Can somebody help on following dilemmas?

1. would it be better to upgrade ADSM first?
   ( upgrade to TSM I plan in next fiscal period because of costs i couldn't
     make it to get the budget for TSM upgrade so I am doing necessary actions
   )

2. Or should I install STK 9730 on ADSM version 2.1?

3. I looked on STK's and Tivoli home page for some manuals about
   installing STK 9730 in ADSM on AIX but I can't find it?
   Can somebody direct me to source how to make devices STK 9730 library
   with two drives visible to ADSM for library, drive and pool definition
   after that?

4. Has somebody any bad experiences with STK 9730 ( I hope not )?

5. Where can i find source for what kind of ptfs or patches do
   I need before installation for AIX and ADSM for using STK9730?


I use AIX 4.3.3 RS6000 H50 as an ADSM server.
