Hi Guys,

We have a situation where our Oracle disk storage pool is currently too
small. At the moment, it consists of 8 1 gig volumes, and we want to change
this to two 8 gig volumes. Could you help me to understand if what I am
doing below will accomplish this?....

This is what I believe we need to do to change the size of the Oracle
storage pool for TSM:-

1. Backup ADSMORAD (Oracle Disk Pool) to ADSMCOPY:-

    bkpstg adsmorad

2. Mark the ADSMORAD volumes as destroyed in TSM:-

    update vol * access=destroyed wherestgp=adsmorad

3. Remove the 8 1gig logical volumes in Unix

    (/dev/rstgpvvol01lv - /dev/rstgpvvol08lv)

4. Add two new 8 gig logical volumes in Unix

   (/dev/radsmorad01lv and /dev/radsmorad02lv)

5. Define the new volumes in TSM:-

    def vol adsmorad /dev/radsmorad01lv
    def vol adsmorad /dev/radsmorad02lv

6. Restore the ADSMORAD storage pool:-

    restore stgpool adsmorad

Before we mark the volumes as destroyed in TSM, do we need to vary them
offline first?.

Kind Regards,

Roy.
