Stuart is correct. The database structure of Lotus Notes/Domino changed
radically from R4 to R5 - so that R5 now uses transaction logs similar to a
regular RDBMS. New commands are required to perform backup and management
of the logs. Also, Lotus now provide a proper backup/restore API which TDP
can use. The API used for the Notes R4 product was never really intended
for backup/restore. All these things mean that the two products aren't
cross-compatible. There is information on this in the TDP Domino R5 product
manual - appendix D Migration Scenarios. Watch out for an upcoming redbook
on Using TSM to backup Lotus Domino R5.
