When I tried to recover the complete home directory of a user (i.e. a deep tree)
to a new location adsm failed unter NT 4.0.

I was succesful only if I did recreate most of the directory structure by hand
and selecting for restore only sets of directories not containing
subdirectories. If I tried to restore deeper structures the permissions in the
directories at some time were overwritten (with exclusive controle for the owner
correct for the final state but preventing the restore process to succeed) and
restore ended prematurely.

The problem does not exist if the administrators have full controle of the
(original) directory tree. However in the mentioned case only the owner was
having full controle.

Please note that I was operating dsm with an account from the administrators
group (also in the backup group).

Is this a bug or as designed? What could I do to restore such data?
