Greetings,
Recently (a few months ago) somebody on the list mentioned that IBM
was supposed to be coming out with a NDMP client for servers like the
Netapp. Can anybody point to anything in writing from IBM (or a
statement from you IBMers out there!) that could firm up when this is
expected. I have a new customer who is weighing TSM vs Veritas, and
this is one of his hangups. This is going to be an expensive and
strategic decision, so they want to know what they can expect. If it is
going to be soon, and will allow them to attach a tape drive to their
Netapp, but have TSM still manage the backups and restores, then they
would go the TSM route.
What is really the hangup with this? This has been discussed on the
list for two years now; surely it isn't that hard to produce.

TIA,

John Schneider
