You're kind of stuck with analyzing what you're getting from each client
each day and taking a wag at it. Over time, you should be able to get the
sizes configured about right. Why have more than one disk pool? I ask
because it's simpler to have just one. If you don't have a business reason
to have more than one you shouldn't.
We set more than one up when we have a good business reason. Often, the
business reason is faster restores for some nodes so collocation is a good
idea for those systems.
You can probably take a look at your activity log and get the bytes
transferred info from each client and do math. I'm sure an non-SQL
challenged person can give you a neat select statement to determine this
more easily.
