NT4.0 Backup error

Currently on one of my 3.1.06 nt clients i get the following message, i have
not been able to find anything out on this...any ideas.

This comes from the dsmerror.log

03/15/2000 02:09:44 Unable to open Acknowledgement Mailslot
'\\.\mailslot\client'.
03/15/2000 02:25:25 Unable to open Acknowledgement Mailslot

03/15/2000 06:22:58 Unable to open Acknowledgement Mailslot
'\\.\mailslot\client'.

and then the backup hangs...
