Yes, I have tried it on an old test RS/6000.  The installation went fine -
actually it was an upgrade from a 3.1 server.  But after the install I
attempted to start the server and it bombed out complaining that only
AIX version 4.3 and above was supported.  And worse yet, my 3.1 DB was
updated to the 3.7 format!

Thankfully it was just a test box.
