We have had the same issue when we try to use Server Prompted scheduling
accross a firewall.
I would bet that Client Polling method will work. You may need to have
some firewall rules changed to use Server Prompted scheduling.

Hi,
Two backup scheduled jobs missed last night for our NT server client. The
actlog is as follows:
ANR2716E Schedule prompter was not able to contact client NTSERVER1 using
type 1 (50.3.17.234 1501).
But this morning I can remote do the backup from my desktop through web.
Is
there anyone having idea about this? I'm using ADSM version 3.1for server
and client. Thanks!
