I'll be going with the first option.

Another quick question. I've got a seperate disk I mount on /adsm for
two of my three current db vols and one log vol. I'd like to change
that mount point to be /mnt temporarily. I've changed my dsmserv.dsk,
but it still tried to reach the volumes in the old location.

dsmserv.dsk before
/adsm/db2
/usr/adsm/db3
/adsm/log
/adsm/db

dsmserv.dsk after
/mnt/db2
/usr/adsm/db3
/mnt/log
/mnt/db

Gives following error:
ANR0900I Processing options file dsmserv.opt.
ANR0990I ADSM server restart-recovery in progress.
ANR9999D blkdisk.c(1712): Explanation (fstat error), errno=2 (A file or
directory in the path name does not exist.).
