ADSM writes the data out as bytes, there is no catalog information stored on
any tapes - it is stored in the database. Hence the importance of the database.
If someone gets a hold of one of your tapes it is useless without the database.

Does anyone know if there is published information regarding the security of the
tapes written on by ADSM? I need to verify whether or not the tapes can be read
by other sources?

Thanks!
