My experience, too. The great disparity in functionality between the GUI and
command-line versions of the Backup-Archive clients remains a point of great
frustration. For example, you cannot get file owner information from
'dsmc Query ARchive', but it is reported in the GUI. Neither client provides
any substantive reporting capabilities, as is often needed by client system
administrators, as for example in reporting the files which have been archived
by any one user in order to be able to analyze mis-use of alloted facilities.
Very little real evolution has occurred in client facilities over the years,
which leaves *SM far less satisfying than it could be. Too much effort has
been expended in endlessly changing GUI client presentation, at the expense of
progress in real functionality.
