Kelly,
I know in the original thread the tape hardware is different between the 2
servers. But, regardless of the server platform, if the tape hardware is the
same I would have thought you could just "export server filedata=none", just to
get the metadata. Then import server & audit the library just to clean up. Am I
missing something?

I recently helped a customer through this.  After reviewing their policies,
we determined that moving the data didn't make sense since it was going to
expire within the next 60 days anyway (retextra and retonly were 60 days or
less).  So, our decision was to keep the old ADSM server around until all of
the data had expired.  The downside was each of our client nodes had to
endure the "full" backup again.  But this was much shorter than the
export/imports were taking.

This approach works well for short retention periods.  However, if you have
lots of archive data withi long retention periods, you might be stuck with
export/import.  We had a couple of clients like that, but most of them were
not.  Perhaps you are in a similar situation.
