You didn't mention if you are running an open or closed ADSM server.  (SET
REGISTRATION)  if its closed then you need to Define the node in ADSM first and
set its password.   Then the first time you use the client you will be prompted
for the password.  After that you will not need to enter it again.  I do a Q
SCHED in the DSMC client enter the password, and that's it.

Subject:  passwordaccess generate not working...




Hi, i'm running the ADSM client 3.1 release 2.40, on a HP-UX 10.20 box. The
passwordaccess generate option on the dsm.sys file just doesn't work. I invoke a
command line dsmc session and I get prompted for the node password. I need this
option set because I'm using a scheduling tool (Control-M) that needs this
option to do the backup.

I woukld preciate any suggestion.
