Reclamation of a tape (or of multiple tapes) that are not in the tape
library and physically attached to the ADSM system.

The data on these off-site tapes expires in the normal way, and ADSM can
therefore combine multiple tapes together. This combination allows you to
recover tapes and re-use them.

As the tapes that are being reclaimed are off-site, ADSM doesn't read those
tapes. From the database it knows what data is on those tapes, and just
re-generates a new off-site tape. This tape is moved to the off-site
storage, and (once the database backup period is completed) the tapes whose
data has been regenerated are marked as "empty" can and now return to the
on-site scratch tape area.

Cheers, Chris
