Is it really unlimited? I'm running ADSM 3.1.2.42 on AIX 4.3.2 and I had a
problem when I defined more than 1024MB for the buffpoolsize (actually 1,256MB
was the number I used). The ADSM server actually died with an out of memory
error. That's not a real error though, I have 5GB in the box and it only runs
ADSM, the server process only made it to about 1.3-1.4GB before it died. I
didn't really follow up since I was changing it from 756MB and 256MB more seemed
to do the trick for now. Is anybody using more than 1GB for the buffpoolsize?

Bill,

Increasing your buffpoolsize should increase your cache hit pct.
Technically, the maximum size of your buffer pool is amount of available
virtual memory on your system. Be sure to restart your ADSM server after
increasing your bufpoolsize.
