Jeri,

I ran into this problem with one of my customers who was *always*
trying to move tapes offsite before the timeframe we had initially
configured ADSM's DR processes to complete.

Two things come to mind:

1)

This would have no effect on the *SM database backup. As soon as *SM
finishes his db backup, it is immediately supposed to dismount that
db backup. The reason for this is because you cannot stack anything
on that tape, so there is no reason to keep it mounted on the drive.

2) An *easy* solution for your problem, and one I realized for my
customer, is to readjust all of your backup schedules (if needed),
your storage pool backup schedules, and your db backup schedule to
kick off an hour early or so. Then when your operators are ready to
move tapes offsite, the db backup would have already been finished
and would not be mounted when the drmedia commands start to be issued.
