Yes, this is normal. Unfortunately Label libv is a single threaded
operation. i.e. it uses only one tape drive at a time.

With Dsmlabel you have a bit more flexibility but I've had problems with
dsmlabel in the past and have stuck with label libv.

        Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use the label libvolume command instead of dsmlabel.
My ADSM server is 3.1.2.40 and I have 4 3590 drives.

I have noticed that, using label libv, volumes are checked in one at
a
time. It checks in one volume, then moves on to the next using a
        different drive!
Is this normal? Why doesn't ADSM use all my drives at the same time
to
        check in the volumes??

Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

        Best regards,

        Jerry Caupain
