As an additional note, I have found that when I have checked tapes back in
and they have a status of blank, that they come up as 'Unavailable' if you
view them through the browser admin, I have then changed them to a state of
read/write and that solves the problem.

                     This is true, any volume that is checked out and
checked back in again
                     gets the 'blank' status. This goes for all private
volumes i.e.
                     volumes previously having the status Data or DbBackup.

                I believe if you check out a tape, that is in a stgpool, and
then check it
                back in, the Status Last Use becomes blank.
