ADSM-L

We have been using SQL Backtrack for Oracle for years now without any
problems. What we have been doing is to backup the Oracle DB's to a
ADSM disk storage pool and migrating to tape (2 Redwood tape drives).

When we try this with Sybase (sending 3 streams), the backup goes
through fine. But when we try to restore, Backtrack wants to restore
from 3 tape drives, which we don't have. If I understand this
correctly, say for example you have a Sybase database of 3GB, and you
specify 3 streams (sessions), it will break up the Sybase database in 3
x 1GB files and back them up. When restoring, it need access to all 3
files simultaneously. Is this correct? Is the amount of streams
related to the amount of tape drives available. In other words, you
can't backup to disk first and then migrate to tape? This does not
sounds correct to me.

Please, any help will do. I would love to know how you are handling
your Sybase backups with Backtrack and ADSM.
We are running the ADSM Server (3.1) on AIX and SQL Backtrack on HP
(11).

Thanks in advance for you help.
