Richard - What came across in your posting was that your user did not notice
          that the C: and D: drives were pre-selected in the GUI, and ended
up with a big mess as both ended up restored to the same location.
I guess clients don't realize that GUIs are conveniences and are limited in
what they can do.  I generally avoid them when command line alternatives are
available, where you can specify exactly what you want - and don't lose track
of it across a succession of dialog screens.
    You might report the situation to *SM support as a problem; but consider
that it might work the way it does because a prior customer actually wanted
to have multiple selections go to the same destination.  Again, it comes down
to carefully specifying exactly what you want the operation to do.
