The question is even more interesting than you think!

What about files that were active at the time of the last backup?  These
files are never going to expire!  Inactive files will continue to be
governed by the appropriate management class and will disappear sooner or
later.

That's my first thoughts.  Again, the brain is slightly faster than the
fingers...

If a filespace is there one day and gone to Maui the next, and an
incremental runs, I would think that perhaps all of the files in the gonzo
filespace would be marked inactive.  Is that really true?  If the file
system doesn't know about the filespace, would ADSM know to try to inc it?
Would the deleted file pass happen against the removed filespace?  Geez, now
I'm confused.
