Hi

ADSM Server 3.1.2.20
AIX 4.3.2
3590J Drives
3494 Library.

I've got at problem with one of my (bad) tapes.
The problem started with:

        11/03/1999 02:21:48 ANR8337I 3590 volume 026554 mounted in drive
TAPED5
                              (/dev/rmt5).
        11/03/1999 02:21:49 ANR1340I Scratch volume 026554 is now defined
in storage
                              pool DLBACKINTT.
        11/03/1999 02:44:50 ANR8359E Media fault detected on 3590 volume
026554 in
                              drive TAPED5 (/dev/rmt5) of library LIBMGR1.
11/03/1999 02:44:50 ANR1411W Access mode for volume 026554 now set
to
                              "read-only" due to write error.
        11/03/1999 02:45:02 ANR1341I Scratch volume 026554 has been deleted
from
                              storage pool DLBACKINTT.

Now I want to CHECKOUT the volume, but getting ANR8442E.
The volume is NOT in use, and has a Status of Scratch.
The mtlib cmd shows category 012E = Scratch.
mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -qV -V026554
Volume Data:
   state................00
   class................10
   volser...............026554
   category.............012E
   subsystem affinity...01 02 03 04 05 06 00 00
                        00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
                        00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
                        00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

If I would use the mtlib command to eject the tape from the library, will
ADSM be aware of, that the volume is gone???
