Hello,

I am new to the list, but it looks like the discussions are good.
I have updated the microcode recently and have noticed the other posts
about tapes going bad. I have been patient while mutiple tapes go bad left
and right. Hopefully it will slow down soon, it has only been a couple of
days. My question is ..
The media errors marked with no numbers I assume are the dbbackup volumes.
How do I tell which one it is? I keep 14 backups of the database. I am
assuming it is the one used when the error occured and I guess I can track
that down. Once I find that volume should I just check it out of the
library? I noticed the errors were of type 8831W not the 8830E, so I
didn't know if I should follow the directions from the earlier post in
regard to this using the mtlib command. Also should I try to use 'move
data' to transfer the data off this tape, before checking it out?

If anyone can steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rusty
