I'm not even my own NT expert, but when asked to install anything on
NT I'll reboot before and after. In the ADSM/TSM case, I'll turn
ADSM/TSM services to manual, reboot, install adsm/tsm, reboot,
start/end the backup client, install the services, reboot, and then verify
backup client and services are functioning.
If you uninstall something, *always* reboot before installing something
or something else.
Motto: I've never had trouble (except with those that want 24x7)
rebooting too much.
Much trouble when I skimped on a reboot ... and sometimes the
trouble only shows up much later, often with the next reboot of NT.
Your experience may vary.
