I was told that the microcode on our drives could be updated to read
the double length tapes, when they became available. You an also update
your 3590 tape drives to 3590E so that when the double length tapes are out
you have 4 times the capacity. But then again that's what my IBM rep
said... I guess this doesn't help much.
