However, a full verify of all backups usually being prohibitive:

Do your archive, without specifying the delete-after-reading argument.  Then,
in the same script, do a

BACKUP STGPOOL foopool barpool yadda -WAIT=YES

to however many copy pools your application needs.  When they are done, delete
the live data.

If your tape robot is such that three or four copies of the data won't
guaruntee a reliable read, then you have bigger problems than this. :)
