Our ADSM server is on VM (with NT clients), but we've successfully =
retrieve
archived data from another user. Is it possible that when you set up =
the
access permissions in Utilities you might have forgotten to put in an =
entry
for retrieving archived data? You would need to have two entries =
giving
permission to a node - one entry allowing them to restore backed up =
data and
another entry allowing them to retrieve archived data. Just a thought.
It's
something that's easy to overlook.

Hi,
Hi,

it's now 15 months that we are using ADSM (server on MVS, clients on NT =
and
UNIX).

From the beginning, the "access another user" function in the
backup/archive-client doesn't work.

After installing TSM NT client 3.7.1.0 I hopefully tried this function
again. But when I open the RETRIEVE window I only see the node name of =
the
"other user" in the directory tree, but no archive versions.

So I must change the node name in the dsm.opt to the "other user" (as =
always
in the last 15 months). When I now open the RETRIEVE window I can see =
the
node name and all archive versions in the directory tree window.

Is there anyone who has ever successfully used the "access another =
user"
function?
If yes, I will be thankful for any suggestions how to run the function
successfully.

Mit freundlichem Gru=DF
