I installed a V3.7 client on a win95 desktop, and ran several full backups to
see how
the performance compared with the V3.1 Client.
The old client averaged about 14min.13sec. to backup the file space
I deleted the filespace, installed the V3.7 client and ran the same backup
result 16min. 17sec. about a 15% loss in performance, and it started two
sessions.
However, the self tuning feature seems to be working, each time I ran the same
backup I got better performance
Second run 13min 13sec.
Third run 12min. 49sec.
fourth run 12min. 45sec.
so overall, it looks like there is a performance improvement.
The performance may improve even more if I get the client set up properly. I'm
getting
the following errors on every file backed up, that's over 23,000 entries to the
error log,
that's bound to slow things down.
