Hello all,

We have been using BackTrack to do physical backups of our Sybase databases
for a few years now with good performance.  Recently the DBA tried to
change to doing a "logical" backup instead and the time for the backup to
complete more than tripled.

Can anyone with BackTrack experience please explain to me why the logical
backup would be so much slower?  And/or what I might suggest to the DBA in
terms of changes to his config that might speed things up?

I'm assuming there is nothing I can do on the ADSM server or client options
side of the fence since other backups are still running fine.
