Hello Frederic,
I think you would appreciate reading the nice manual explaining all new
finctions of TSM 3.7 (SG24-5477-00, Technical Guide 3.7)
Instant archiving is on page 40: no data goes through the LAN! It is
generated from storage pools and stays there.
Backup sets are also generated from SP but then stored as external data,
managed as history volumes.
