I believe that if you delete a tape and discard the data, the copy pool data
will be deleted as well. Not what you want to do! So instead of deleting
the volume, update to access=destroyed:
update vol mumble access=destroyed
You can then do a restore volume if you choose, or let it die a natural
death due to expiration. Since it's marked destroyed, if a restore request
is received, it will be satisfied from the copy storage pool volumes. Since
these are probably off-site, you will get a mount request. This could be a
pain in the arse.
If you want to restore the volume, you can do a restore volume mumble
preview=yes to find out which tapes will be required.
