Hi, you could use something like this :
In this example we are working with different server stanzas (ESP/EST).
Look at the Servername, NODname, TCPClientport and INCLExcl stanzas. ( I think
something like this would be good for you too)
You can then start the backup/restore with : dsmc -se=ESP or dsmc -se=EST
dsm.opt:
SERVERNAME ADSM0
DOMAIN All-LOCAL
SUBDIR ON
TAPEPROMPT NO
dsm.sys:
DEFAULTSERVER ESP
* DON'T EVER add Nodename !!!
SErvername ADSM0
COMMmethod TCPip
TCPPort 1500
TCPServeraddress dsmsv0_fi0
SCHEDMODe PRompted
INCLEXCL /usr/lpp/adsm/bin/inclexcl
Servername ESP
COMMMethod TCPIP
COMPRESSIon No
ERRORLOGName /home/adsm/log/dsmerror.ESP.log
INCLExcl /usr/lpp/adsm/bin/inclexcl.ESP

Subject: Backup ORACLE DB offline
Hi ADSM-ers,
Once a week our database guy wants me to do an offline backup of his ORACLE
8
databases running on our AIX 4.3 server. During the week we use the ADSM
ConnectAgent.
On Monday to Thursday the database files should be excluded from backup, on
Friday
I have to shutdown the database and include these files in the backup.
I would like to define a different NODE with a different INCLEXCL file. But
so far I was not
successful.
I'm not very familiar with AIX (and ADSM on AIX) so I would very much like
to know how you
do your weekly offline backups.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
Thomas Rupp
