Client default to "Show Active / Inactive files"

Is there anyway that I can set the client dsm to default to "Show Active
/ Inactive files" ( the black button )?

Also, I entered "QUIET" on a line by itself ( no parameters ) in the
options file on a AIX v3 rel 1 client and I get the following error:
