Kuli,

As was stated earlier in the list, currently the only available HSM NT
Client is Seagate's Storage Migrator.
There have been posts on the list in the past about this. Some people seem
to have it working with little problems while others
certainly don't recommend it.

When Windows 2000 reaches us it will included RSM which will give vendors
are more consistive inteface upon which to develop
applications such as HSM.

http://www.highground.com/rsm/rsmfaq.htm
18. How does Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) work with RSM?
Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), like backup/recovery, archive,
document imaging, etc., is a Data Mover technology that moves data from disk
to removable storage (e.g. tape and optical devices) based on certain data
characteristics and policies. RSM provides removable storage management
services to all Data Movers. The HSM service that ships with Windows 2000
Server, called the Remote Storage Service, uses RSM to allocate and mount
media, label media, control robotic libraries, and manage media pools.

The site below seem to talk mostly about RSM and the ability to
manage
removable storage media from an NT platform(windows 2000).
What i was really after was any information from other ADSM sites
that use a
HSM client for NT. I don't believe that there is a HSM client as
part of the
NT client. I was always under the impression that such software
would only
be available from a third party vendor as neither IBM or Microsft
produced
        such software currently.

        Thanks,

        Kuli.
