Roger,
Yes you can restore the Exchange Db to a different box, provided it is
within the same Exchange Org.
But only the info store not the directory.
There are ways and means to restore both the directory and the info store
to a different box.. at least I saw someone post here before who was able to
do it, but only under the specific direction of Microsoft. Generally
speaking only the info store can be restore to a different exchange server.

I can remember our NT admin asked some guys at MS about this and, as

as I remember, the response: you are *never* able to restore the
exchange db to another box with different SID. Independent of adsm

*any* other backup/restore tool.
Please tell me if I'm wrong, we would need this, too.
