Yes, it would be very prudent, specially if you don't use 'collocation=yes'.
If you have to restore some (or all) of your filesystems, all your data
is backup-ed (by your selective backup) on a couple of tapes (instead
of all your data is spread out over 'I don't know how much tapes').
