Re: Core dump / crash

I've seen this error before Martijn, but on MVS. I'm afraid I don't recall
the specifics, however I do remember that the ptf which took us to 3.1.2.20
did include a fix for this problem.
I'm sure that if you searched the APAR database that you will find this one.

Subject: Core dump / crash
Hi all,
Yesterday something weird happened to our ADSM server (3466 NSM: AIX
4.3.2,
ADSM 3.1.2.13):
ADSM died, and here's what I found in the logs:
dsmserv.err:
07/15/1999 19:17:45 ANR7838S Server operation terminated.
07/15/1999 19:17:46 ANR7837S Internal error DBTXN077 detected.
07/15/1999 19:17:46 ANR7833S ADSM thread 1 terminated in response
to
program abort.
07/15/1999 19:17:46 ANR7833S ADSM thread 2 terminated in response
to
program abort.
...
... [ more of this ]
...
07/15/1999 19:17:46 ANR7833S ADSM thread 67 terminated in response
to
program abort.
07/15/1999 19:17:46 ANR7833S ADSM thread 71 terminated in response
to
program abort.
Followed bij a core dump, that completely filled up the /usr file
system:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 113000448 Jul 15 19:19
/usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/core
and then.... silence.
Any idea what might have happened here? The given user response in
my
messages book under "ANR7838S Server operation terminated" is
"Contact your
service representative", so I guess I'd better do that...
Martijn Grendelman.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Martijn Grendelman.
