Thomas - Your frustration with the lack of progress indicators on GUI
         operations is well taken: that's a longstanding usability
problem which the developers have yet to address.
    As to methods of trying to minimize restoral times, see previous
discussions of "No-Query Restore".  Refer to the Backup-Archive Client
manual and the ADSM Version 3 Technical Guide manual.  Suffice to say
that it should not be a test of the invoker's ADSM knowledge to perform
an efficient restore: ADSM should do that unto itself.  As the upcoming
UK conference announcement says, ADSM performance remains disappointing.
