As they say, your mileage may vary.  We have seen from 2:1 to 5:1
     depending on the data.  Also be aware if you use client compression,
     then tape is 1:1.

Folks,

we are new with 3590 and i would like to know: can i trust the
IBM specs which promise a compression ratio of 3:1 (or even
4:1)?
