We have had the opportunity to set this up a couple of times. One of our
HACMP gurus setup HA so I can't address that side of it, but I do know how
the ADSM side worked.
The main benefit of it was that ADSM was able to fail-over to an alternate
box in a matter of a minute or so. Because clients were backing up by
hostname, when server_a went down, they were redirected to server_b. Of
course the best benefit of this was that restores could be directed to
server_b even if server_a was down.
