Hi Joshua,

from time to time we do the following:

we disable the Informix-logging.

we rename the filespace of the informix backups. At the same time the
informix admin unloads and saves the contents of the backuptables.

we do a L0-save and enable logging again.

Then we throw away the old filespaces.

And saving starts again.

It seems that Informix is aware of this problem. It seems ,that may be,
it could eventually be, that with release 7.3x or later of Informix
onbar will be improved to automatically delete old backups.

Maybe we will see this improvement in this or in the next millenium. I
think Informix will be fast with this solution, because they know the
problem already for 2-3 years.
