We did all our R50 to S70 upgrades the first way... all our DBvols,
LOGvols, & STGvols were on external SSA disks... just used the adsm
client code on the server to restore the seqvolhist, devconfig, etc...
from another adsm server (that backed up the general info off that
adsm server) and POOF! all was well ;-) (I believe we did 6 this way)

     later,
          Dwight

Debbie,

If your ADSM db & rec log are on SSA disk and you are keeping the disks to
be used by the new hardware, then an easy way to do this would be too export
your VGs, cable everything up, reinstall ADSM (if you couldn't import the VG
with that installed on it), copy your config files to the correct location,
then import the VG that contains the db & rec log.

Or, if you aren't keeping your current DASD, you could use ADSM's
import/export capabilities, but then you would have to recreate all your
VGs, ADSM db & rec log volumes.

This only a couple of ways to do it - there are more than one ways to skin a
cat.
