su parameter is for subdirectories and is used when u want to backup everything 
under a particular filesystem.Please let me know whether it worked or not . I 
am also working on unix, but on sun solaris

        The ADSM server is aix 4.2 but the client I am trying to archive is
HPUX 10.2.  What does su=yes mean? Please understand I know very little
about ADSM.  I am hoping to go to some classes in July.  Thanks again for
