No such thing as a stupid questions, you say?  Well, don't jump to
conclusions just yet...

(Running ADSM 3.1.2.20 on NT 4.0.)

It is my understanding that ADSM does backup NTFS permissions, unless told
not to in the DSM.OPT file.  Well, I did a restore, and, just as you would
expect, the restored files adopted the NTFS permissions of the parent
directory.  So, what did I do wrong?  How do I prepare so as to be able to
restore files with the permissions they had when backed up, and ignore
whatever new directory permissions they may see?

I fully expect this to be a simple answer, and I will accept my lashings...
