ADSM-L

Greeting all,

I am an ADSM newbie and have a query for the group:

Background: I have a business area that would like to take a "snapshot"
(archive) on demand of their data files each night before running a specific
business process. They are not NT administrators and they would like to kick
this off on demand from a workstation. I have written some dsmc archive
comands to get the date I want, but what I'd like to have them be able to do
is (through a batch command - NT cmd file) kick off the dsmc archive from an
NT workstation but have the command execute from one of our ADSM servers.
One thought was to use the NT "AT" schedule command to call out a time for
this command to execute on our #1 ADSM server. This would mean their
manually clicking on an icon which points to the cmd file and filling in a
time for the process to execute. I have not tested this yet, but wanted to
throw it out here to see if there might be a more efficient way. If I can
get the archive process worked out, I'll use the same idea to build a
retrieve for them as well.

1. Can a dsmc archive command be run from an NT workstation on demand, but
execute from the ADSM server? (to minimize network traffic)

2. Is anyone using the NT "AT" command to kick off ADSM jobs?

3. Any better ideas on how to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for any info/advice you can share on this.
