OK, This is getting really annoying...

Anybody have a problem like this?

I have a 3494 tape library. Last night I had two drives go down (no idea why).
I couldn't delete them from ADSM because it thought they were still in use. I
un-mounted the tapes manually (ADSM didn't show the mounts), brought down ADSM
and still couldn't fix the problem. I ran cfgmgr (after deleting the drives I
could and killing the lmcpd demon). Now I had 2 instances of lmcpd!! I still
couldn't delete the two drives because smitty said they were in use (a query of
the drive showed them as available). So I IPL'd the node. When it came back up
the drives showed as available but I now had 2 instances of LMCPD... I deleted
the drives, killed LMCPD and re-ran cfgmgr 3 times. To no avail. I left it for
a bit to put out another fire and returned 45 minutes later and still had 2
demons. I tried the kill process again, nothing. Then I called AIX support.
When I finally got a technician, I ran ps-ef again and low and behold, only 1
lmcpd. Everything worked again... I DID NOTHING!! That is the second time
this has happened. I try everything a bunch of times, give up, call AIX and it
miraculously fixes itself with no intervention. I bet if I hadn't called, I
would still have a problem!!

Does anybody else have any problems with Atape or atldd?(atldd version 3.2.1.0
and Atape ver 4.1.7.0) But I have had this problem with earlier releases as
well...

Give me some hints before I pull out all my hair!!
